What's new?

The New Hollywood and Independent Film Making

"l love the idea of not being an
independent filmmaker. I've liked
working within the system. And l've
admired a lot of the older directors
who were sort of 'directors for hire.'
Like Victor Fleming was in a contract
all those years to Metro and Selznick
and Mayer . . . he made Captains
Courageous. And you know, his most
famous films: Wizard of Oz and
Gone with the Wind."

- Steven Spielberg, producer/director

New Hollywood it is, for the satisfaction of audience cannot be the same all throughout their lives, they can change because they also depend on the trend and on what they need to see. New Hollywood film making is after the need and the desire of the majority they want to spend less as much as possible that the audience will surely love. They want to do it because the Independent film makers are their direct competitors they have the less budget but they produce a phenomenal effect on its viewers that's why new Hollywood want to accomplish as well.

New Hollywood want to sustain the satisfaction and desire of its audience because they might lost it and go to the Independent films. In this case New Hollywood think out of the box, they take the risks to show films that are attention seeker for the youth, for they know that youth will be the biggest group that will consume their films. Through this they make films that the youth will surely patronage and like, the movies that will leave a remarkable part on the new Hollywood.

For me, I like them both Independent Film Making for they will surely show to us what is reality without any hesitations. on the other hand, new Hollywood offers new taste and genres that we will surely love and we will not dislike in a long span of time.
